My friends and I have a term for when we do something that we regret, or a silly decision we have made that turns out horrible-we call it a BLC, a Bad Life Choice. We also have GLC's-Good Life Choice-which if for when you do something you are pleased about, or a silly decision we have made that turns out amazing. And finally, the ever popular ILC-Interesting Life Choice-which is the one where what ever you have done or decided is neither good nor bad...it just kind of happened and has not had a significant impact on the side of either good or bad.
So for example, tonight I made a BLC-I chose to watch Valentine's Day.
By myself.
Alone.
In a house where at the moment I am the only one in the family without a significant other. And I watched it. And it made me think, 'I really wish things worked out the way they did in movies. I wish you met someone and instantly you both knew. Or that suddenly friends really just figure it out that they are for each other and instantly realize "hey this would be a good time to say something and go for it because it totally won't be awkward and will work out for me."'
But it doesn't happen like that. Instead you meet someone and you totally enjoy the time you spent together and get their number/give your number only to have them ignore you. Or you meet someone and you are not into them but they are into you and you are awkward all night. Or you realize you "like-like" your friend but don't know what they think so you keep it to yourself but agonize over every detail of every conversation. Or anything and everything in between.
I can't be the only person who feels this way.
I blame the BLC of watching a romantic comedy alone.
Haha nope you are definitely NOT the only that has done this. I've watched Love Actually by myself before and it was majorly depressing!
ReplyDeleteWatching a movie like that alone can be depressing! But, our lives are not movies and you will see that your happily ever after will be so much better!
