So I am aware that I posted something on Saturday, which was May 1st, but wow! May already? How times flies. I have officially been living upstate for a month, and in two days it will be an official month at my job. I really enjoy it, though I often feel incompetent. But I have grown in leaps and bounds, learned a lot. I really like the people I work with, and I "launched" a project today that everyone seemed happy with and excited to be a part of.
In other, not so fun at all, news, the incredibly sad story of what happened at UVA today is hitting a little closer to home than some of these tragedies normally do. The young lady who passed was a girl who is from my hometown community and is friends with many people I went to high school with. She is my age, and to see something like this happen (though I am reserving judgement until everything has settled and cleared) kind of sends a shock wave through me, as well as many other individuals and communities. It's hard to really understand ideas of comfort and safety when things like this happen. My thoughts and prayers are with both of these individuals families and friends, and I hope that the UVA community and the Baltimore community can find comfort and make it through this.
I know I've been sporadic lately, but I promise to be back tomorrow.
Holy crap. I just read about Yeardly...so shocking. It does hit home more when they both lived so close to where I grew up as well. Brother's high school played Landon and I have friends who went to NDP and played lax. So scary...
ReplyDeleteI really hope it was not intentional. Is that bad to say?
