I am an avid reader. It is what I love. I am so happy that my parents (more specifically, my mother) raised me with such a strong love of books and a desire to read. Four Books:
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I read this book in 10th grade. Had the worst time slogging through it the first time, but when I reached the end, I was in love with it. This book is my constant go to book when I am traveling, when I don't have a new book and I want to read, anything. I believe I have about three copies on my bookshelf right now.
2. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. I read this book my senior year of college for my Sociology Seminar class. I thought it was amazing how he broke down talents and people we believe have made big and explained everything. It's just cool. The Tipping Point is waiting for me once I finish Her Fearful Symmetry.
3. Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. It's a great twist on the classic Cinderella story, with a heroine who has a voice and a mind. I love this book. Even now. As a 24 year old.
4. "The Ship Shape" Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris. Okay. So overall, I think David Sedaris is hilarious. But this story specifically is my absolute favorite. I cannot read it without cracking up, and pieces from this story are now ingrained my my family's lexicon ("my home, well, one of my homes...").
David Sedaris cracks me up as well!
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot get into Jane Austin. I have been "reading" Emma for about a year.
