Siren Song

The last two days of my travel were spent in Richmond, VA.

First of all, I need to admit something. Richmond is my dream location and has been for a while. This visit did little to tamp that down.

During the day, I spent most of the time driving around, getting some work done, obviously being there for the reason I was supposed to be there, haha. But at night!
bing bang boom, babies.

I actually arrived on Monday night, and immediately found out about a $2 burger deal with the purchase of a beverage at a regional restaurant. Are you kidding me? I am in like a college student with an acceptance letter. Headed over, got my burger, got a drink, and enjoyed my evening. Did I mentioned I walked? Love it.

The next night I drove out to the suburbs of the city to spend time with CWF, her fiance, and their brand new baby puppy, Layla!! Layla was so adorable-black cockapoo-and I spent a huge amount of time cooing over her and letting her bite my fingers, haha. This might be the last time I see CWF before she becomes CFH, but I hope not.

For my last night, I met up with my amazing friend GMK at a local pub. GMK and I met last year during my first travel season, but he left the profession and lives so far away (aka Richmond). He and I have only seen each other a handful of times, but our friendship has gotten increasingly stronger over the year through hundreds of IMs, GChat convos, texts and everything. I was just so excited to actually sit down with him and talk about everything that is going on in our lives face-to-face!

There are so many people in my life that are down in RVA, and to get to spend that time with them when I live so far away is amazingly special to me, and the city continues to sell itself to me...

Siren Sooooooong.
