Don't Forget!!

To enter my giveaway!!! A free mix cd! Woot! Closes at 11:59 tonight!

I am on my final two days of the travel season and I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am that it is coming to a close. Although it has been a great opportunity to see my family and the doggies. But Thanksgiving is coming up and then Christmas, so I'll be back again and again some more for visits, and with the whole fam, not just my parents.

I hope everyone had a good weekend, I had a wonderful one. I love when the clocks fall back. I didn't feel the extra hour Sunday morning, but it was definitely amazing when I went to bed at 9:20 Sunday night and slept until 7 the next morning.

Saturday night I went out with some boys from my office and HL. Technically, it only ended up being me and one officemate, because someone else couldn't uh...keep it together long enough to go out to the bars. Can I just say, sometimes I love drinking with just boys. They might be kind of crude, but they are always funny and there is no feelings of competition, whether its imagined or not. I totally watched HL try to scam on some hotties, and then as he completely found out they were not in his age bracket, so to speak, according to him. Var amusing.
We went to a bar that had closed but recently reopened. It is my favorite bar in town-it was my father's favorite when he attended school there and whenever we went back we would go. Dad would have a beer while the kids had ginger ale and played foozball. I always remember it as being incredibly dark and dingy, a kind of dive-y, townie bar during the week that was a dive-y college bar on the weekends. I was so upset to find that it had closed, and when we climbed in the cab (our cab driver's name was Hook-HL sat up front and reported that he did, in fact, have a hook for a left hand) we were told it had re-opened, and I demanded we go, with the biggest smile on my face. Ever. It is now clean, and htey keep the lights on, and it was much more local people than college kids, which is excellent for yours truly. I don't think the kids realize its open yet. I introduced myself to one of the bartenders (and discussed his gauging of his ears) and had a great time. And of course...no night is complete without pizza of some sort from one of the few that stay open for the late night crowd. General Tso's pizza, anyone?
Sunday I think I spent the entire day in PJs on the couch watching tv. Finally it hit about 9 pm and Saturday night caught up with me. I had been planning to watch the special on TLC about Prince William and Kate, but 10 pm? No thank you. I climbed into bed and died. Awesome.

To sum up, a slightly amusing story: I am staying at my parents tonight and heading into DC tomorrow, and they just got a phone call from Daddy's school (and my place of work) from their phone-a-thon. I missed answering the call by a ring. DARN IT. I would've loved that conversation. Especially if it was a student I knew.
