Le Friggin Sigh.

I've been going to a nutritionalist.

I go once every 5-6 weeks or so, get weighed, and we discuss the highs and lows of my weight loss campaign. Then we discuss where I can improve, how I can improve, etc etc.

When I first went, from the first to second visit, I dropped about 5 lbs. It. Was. Awesome.

Then I went barreling head first into travel season. I didn't see her for two months, but when I did, I'd only gained about .5 lbs. Once again, I was amazed. I was expecting a 15 lb gain, or something. We scheduled a visit for the beginning on December.

Ouch. Apparently, what doesn't kill me over travel season, will catch up to me visiting home for 4 days over Thanksgiving and only working out once. I went back and had gained back almost all of the original 5 lbs. Not so great.

Our next appointment isn't until mid-January, and I will be heading home for 10 days come Christmas.
I am living in fear, and in the meantime I am making adjustments to what I am doing now in hopes of dropping lbs like their hot in the next two weeks. Like working out with a sweatshirt on (sleeves down, hood up). I finished my workout today and literally looked like I had stepped out of the shower.
Gross.
(side note: I promise that I am hydrating throughout these workouts)

But here is my ultimate question: how do I stay on track at home?! Working out will be difficult. We don't have any exercise equipment, and the thought of running outside in late December already has me reaching to turn up the heat. I've thought about commandeering the kitchen a couple of nights, but that will only go so far. Plus, my recipe repertoire isn't exactly far-reaching. (Salmon wraps again, anyone?) I guess in the end it will come down to control (and weather) but I don't want to use the excuse that it's okay to overindulge because it's the holidays. What's a girl named ME to do!?

  1. Going home is the worst! I always gain, but have been gaining less then I used to. Is there a gym nearby or a yoga/pilates studio that you can schedule classes that you will have to go to? If I know I am having a big dinner I eat VERY well during the day and I send my mom a grocery list of healthy things to stick the fridge with.
