Yesterday, it appears that there was a mighty upheaval down below the mason-dixon line as snow and freezing rain brought things to a halt down at ye olde Alma Mater. In the middle of exams. Sorry babies, it happened to me freshie year during exams too. I didn't complain though, because I had pulled something in my neck and could barely move it, much less sit at a desk for 2-3 hours leaning over and exam and writing. My roomie had pulled an all nighter to receive the email at 5 am saying school was closed exams were cancelled for the day. She came back and slept away all her knowledge. Actually, that might be a lie, she might've kicked that exams booty for all I know.
I bring this up because now that I am living in a winter wonderland, I find the responses to be somewhat funny. I understand, and am jealous, of the southern response-it's not expected, therefore its not in the plans and its not in the budget to be taken care of. Here, its normal and natural and therefore easier to plan for the serious stuff. And we don't get snow days as easily.
It was still kind of funny though.
