Aloha! Life Update.

Bonjourno my darlings. My last couple of updates have been less of the 'here-is-my-life' variety and more of the 'randomosity-out-the-wazoo' variety, so I figured it was time for a real life sharing pow-wow.

I went home over the holidays, spent a glorious week and a half with my family, did NYE out in downtown Baltimore with a gorgy dress and heels, and then made my triumphant return to the semi-tundra, where I have been for the past week and a half, attempting to get back into the swing of work life. I have been almost productive, getting things mostly done and the ball rolling on a couple of projects, and now things are a little bit more hopping around the neighborhood, lets say. Things are busy this month and until about May, when hopefully we will be past mud season and into solid warm temperatures. I've been told this stretch to spring is tedious at best, so I am hoping to make it through. I missed the boat on winter boots-I was dying for some shearling-lined Bean Boots, but alas, I waited too long and now they aren't even shipping until MARCH. March I tell you. Insanity.

This past weekend I went to an AHL game and was unimpressed with the lack of fights that took place. Hello, I thought hockey games resulted in knockdown, drag out, scrappy, bench-emptying brawls! Or at least some decent grabbing and punching before the refs broke it up. Le sigh. I did get a free Girl Scout patch when I flirted spent some time talking to some dudes who were working the game. Badge of honor, obviously.

The Ravens beat the Chiefs in sound fashion this past Sunday, which means we are once again blessed with a fabulous heavyweight match-up this Saturday: Ravens v. Steelers. I am hoping that the team that played last week shows up for the Steelers, and not some of the weak sauce that couldn't barely close a game. Perhaps I will see if I can convince some people to get drinks and watch with me...hmmm.

And finally, the big excitement in my life these days is that I am in the midst of planning a quick sojourn to le fabuloso NYC next Saturday. I will be training down and back (the thought of driving/parking to/in the city makes me almost ill with fear) and I am pretty impressed with the going rates. I am traveling on slightly off hours, but it's all good. Leaves time for some sight-seeing (read: shopping and eating) on Sunday afternoon. If you know of any neat places I should check out, let me know.

Alright behbehs, I am outskis. I made phone calls AND went to the gymbo tonight, and then drove home in la snow. Cross your fingers for some sort of snow delay tomorrow morning-just enough time for me to figure out how to get back down the monster hill without slip-sliding everywherrr.
