Starting Off Right!

I made the return trip back up north with no real hassles, other than a non-flushing, outside entrance bathroom at the gas station I stopped at on the ride. I don't even remember the last time I used an outside entrance toilet. Weird. So weird. I got into Binghamton and random picked up the local Baltimore AM sports station, so I was able to listen (with bated breath) as the Bengals almost beat the Ravens in the last 30-some seconds. Holy wow.

I never seem to leave home without more than when I arrived, and this trip home was no exception. I did a little furniture shopping, and mommy so graciously passed on a game table to me, as well as some paintings. As soon as HL got his booty out of work and over here to help me get the items in the house, I set about rearranging to my liking.

The view from the "study"- I used the previous entranceway table and collapsed it down to coffee table size. The couch was originally on the right, I moved it and the DVD shelf to the left, moved the big brown chair from the bottom of the picture to the far right, and my new chair on the other side of the side table.

Here you can see all my living room art. The one above my TV and behind the table lamp were done by an artist in residence at my college during my junior year (who I cannot recall at all, unfortunately), and the other two are done by my uncle. I have two more of his paintings in my hallway to my bedroom.

The chair side of the room, with some nice blankets.

The game table, being used as my entrance table. I can also unfold the top, and it opens up, with storage underneath.

Things feel so much more home-y in here, all of the sudden. It is very comforting to feel like my apartment is turning into a home, and not just somewhere I live. It's only taken 9 months or so to make this shift.

Yay!
