NOW I Remember

When I finally got a phone on a real plan, my mom and I went shopping for it and we ended up with AT&T. Then for the next 6 or so years, we had AT&T. And the service was not exactly the best. We don't get reception at our home. WHY oh why had we gone with AT&T over Verizon?!

Just got back from the Verizon store in town, and I remember why: they are pushy and kind of jerks.

When my mom and I went shopping so many years ago, I had friends on Verizon. They had the. coolest. phone. ever. And all I wanted was that phone. i didn't care about plans, I didn't care about service, I wanted that phone. And when we got to Verizon, they immediately pushed me away from that phone because it was not the newest version, nor did it have the newest and best features available. I was so turned off and off-put by this sales pitch, we went to AT&T instead and found me a phone I liked there.

When I finally got off my parents plan, I actually went to Best Buy to get my new phone and plan, and they let me get the phone i wanted (for free!!) and worked with me on the plan, so I got into Verizon with no hassles.

I am not exactly concerned with having the newest toy out there, as much as I am concerned about having what I want. What I want is a pink Blackberry. My contract is up soon, so I headed to the Verizon store to see what could be done. I told the girl I was interested in a Blackberry, and immediately she dismissed the idea, and began to talk about how Android phones are so much better! She took me over to look at them, and I was just not really impressed. So I can touch screen text. Sorry I don't want a touch screen. So this one has a keyboard. Sorry it's ugly and bulky. So I get a whole bunch of stuff that I don't want or plan to use. Sorry it'll cost me $179.

We go back over to the counter and I immediately start playing with the pink Blackberry next to me. She, instead of maybe seeing that I am still stuck on the BB, tells her coworkers she is trying to convince me why I should get an Android. I show them my phone, saying that a BB is the next step for me, and one of the guys goes, "Why, when you could go from a Pinto to a Cadillac, would you go for the Vue instead??" Uh....maybe because I like the Vue and it will work just as well for what I want?

I don't understand why, when I think it was pretty obvious that I was not interested in the Android, you would continue to try and push it. These people made me feel like I was dumb for wanting a BB. Really great customer service. Not.

Next time I'm not asking for help. I guess I'm just gonna have to go in and tell them I don't care. I want a freakin' Blackberry, darn it.
