Avid Reader...?

Behold. My bookshelf.

This has slowly grown and I have carted my books around with me back and forth in college and now into my oh-so-grown-up life. Books for Christmas, birthdays, and random ones I manage to pick up every time I enter a bookstore (it's unhealthy).

This isn't even all of the books in my possession-Milty hijacked a number (around 10 or so, at least) of my books when she last visited, causing my collection to dwindled a smidge. Plus, there may or may not be two books on my bedside table. Along with my Kindle. Yeah. About that.

Please excuse the lack of classics and the slightly more than average number of "bodice-rippers" that hold court in my collection. They are all I ever seem to be able to find in CVS at 2 in the afternoon while incredibly bored during travel season in the fall.

Top right? Possibly my collection of Gossip Girl/It Girl Novels. Doesn't include all of them. You likeyyyy.

There is an empty third shelf on this book shelf. It won't be empty much longer, once Milt gets me my books back. American Wife, Pursuit, and Poor Little Bitch Girl (middle second row) are all hardcovers purchased for $5. If I am anything, I am not one to pass up $5 hardcovers. It's kind of a problem.

If you look closely-middle top shelf-you'll see a book whose binding is Duct Tape. That would be my copy of "The Official Preppy Handbook" so lovingly worn through by my mother, then dug up (somehow somewhere) by yours truly. Milt has my copy of True Prep.

My Oxford Russian-English dictionary, Suite Francaise and What's That Sound? were brought along from college classes. A semester of Russian, my senior symposium class and Suite Francaise...well lets just say I didn't read it, let alone remember what class it was for.

A number of Jane Austen and Jane Austen related books. Two copies of P&P, one Emma, one Persuasion. I can't get through Emma, even though I love the story, because I spend too much of the time while reading it correlating it to "Clueless". Raise your hand if you didn't realize Cher and Dionne's life story was based on a Jane Austen novel until you saw the GwenPal version on TV! Eventually I will own and get through all of Ms. Austen's novels.

High School yearbooks and a photo album there on the second shelf left-missing one, though I know exactly where it is in my parent's house, or at least, where it used to be. I have photos from my freshman year of college but am lacking an album, and have scores of pictures on my computer to get prints of. It is something that I am constantly meaning to do, but never quite manage to.

And finally, my favorite fairy tale of all time-Ella Enchanted (hated the movie, by the way.) Similar in theme to Cinderella, but such a stronger message. Plus, I love that Ella and Char write letters back and forth. Adorable.

Thats all for today. Gotta go unpack my groceries and try the new beer I bought (Spring Blonde Wheat Ale from Blue Moon. I hope it's good, I could only find it in a 12-pack).
