So since I travel a bunch for work, I wanted to do a post about....something.
I've forgotten the word.
Those things you see that indicate you are getting close to something.
When I drive home, the York Barbell man lets me know I am close.
When we used to drive up to Old Forge, NY, the Wig Wam Bar with the plane crashed into the roof was a landmark (THERE IT IS!!!).
When I drive down to my Alma Mater, the sign saying that I am leaving the Chesapeake Bay Watershed lets me know I am almost back to where I spent some of the best years of my life (so far, anyways).
These physical landmarks make me wonder about other kinds. Like when I know it's officially time to put away the peacoat. Or the point in a song where it becomes one I want to hear again. Or what's going to be the point where I feel that I've made a dent in my weight (10 lbs? 20?) If/when I am going to feel resigned to my fate. If I will ever feel that (I hope that I don't).
Just things to think about, I guess.
