It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

Such a nice, relaxing, GORGEOUS day today! And thanks to all the crazy storms, it's going to continue to be gorgeous all next week! This Friday, depending on how things pan out (see a couple posts below) I might be going up to the Adirondacks with the family for Labor Day weekend. The highs this coming weekend up there? Low 70's. The thought of fall is making me smile.

We do trips every summer to the ADK, and on the way we go through Binghamton, NY. Usually it doesn't really register except for the fact that it's where we get off 81N. Until a couple of years ago. Thats when my dad found out about Spiedies.

I am nowhere near capable of explaining Spiedies to you, except that they are amazing and I've only had them twice. On one trip, my dad actually brought me one home. The link will take you to a website explaining them more thoroughly. However, daddy came home from the store about a week a go with Lupo's Spiedie marinade. Cue my ultimate excitement! So tonight, for dinner, we are having Spiedies and corn, and he is outside right now cooking the spiedie-marinated chicken (about 48 hours in the marinade, nice.) on the grill. The corn has been shucked and cooked, and I am super duper stoked. And dad just shouted up the stairs.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a nice relaxing Sunday!
