When I was growing up, one thing my mother ingrained in me was the mantra of "Perky, Positive, Polite." As I have gotten older and been involved in many social situations of varying levels of comfort, I have found this advice to be quite sensible, a definite case of a mother knowing what she is talking about. From parties to rush and work, this mantra is something that I think really applies to the world.

I just finished writing a thank you letter to ARD's neighbors for giving us Bisby. Even though I am keeping him updated and he is passing along stories and pictures, I want them to know how much we enjoy her, and I think a handwritten note does just that. Plus, who doesn't like getting mail? I know I do!

I have a phone interview scheduled for the 25th, and since it is so "far" in advance, I'm not quite nervous yet. I did find out, however, that it will include me talking to four other people, which is slightly intimidating. Some of the next couple of days will be dedicated to preparing for this, doing a little research, coming up with questions, and prepping answers to possible questions they ask of me. Since I am going with M&D to drop off my sister at college, I will be gone from Friday to Monday, and without internet it would be slightly difficult to get ready.
