The intern in our office is hilarious and keeps me entertained to no end. He is quite a little prepster and likes to find most of his clothes from "the trifecta": Polo, Brooks Brothers and (someone I cannot remember right now and will edit in later). I've been working on introducing him to a couple more "appropriate" retailers-hello, Vineyard Vines!
We are having an event coming up in about a week and a half and he has been planning his outfit for weeks, with the focus on white pants and boat shoes. It's his last event, and he is ready to go out with a bang, haha.
One of the things I find most amusing is his interest in England and the royal family. He is a self-proclaimed monarchist, and enjoys telling the story of how when he was younger and went to Colonial Williamsburg, he asked to wear the red coat. He went to England on a scholarship he won, and spent time in the archives-his story about holding a document signed by Winston Churchill is the stuff of legends in our office. I can repeat it word for word, and often do. To others. In front of him.
Next week, he is hosting a Royal Wedding Viewing Party, desiring to be "among the American well-wishers for the royal couple." He has been talking about it for awhile. He is super excited. I really support this enthusiasm. And we regularly discuss the royals and all the wedding details. Can't lie, I wish I could go to the party.
Loves it.
Now...would he rather be marrying Kate or William?
ReplyDeleteMCW, hold your tongue! I think he sounds FABULOUS, and I'm only lamenting the fact that I'm:
ReplyDeletea. too old to date interns, and
b. not into long distance relationships
Hilfiger? Tommy Bahama? Quicksilver? Jos Banks?
