Don't Be Mean.

So heres the thing.

One of my other teams made a post-season tournament. No, it's not the NCAA tournament. No, they will not be competing to be that national champions. But heck, they're playing in a post season. The kids are getting to continue doing something they love. Lacrosse isn't exactly a sport where those who go pro are making millions. There are pro laxers, but usually they have jobs outside of their sport. But like any sport, so very few of the so very many kids who play end up going pro. So I say, any chance you have to continue playing, take it.

I guess the best comparison to make is that this tournament is like the NIT in division one basketball. People really look down their nose at it: fans, schools, coaches, even players. But you know what? Forget those people. I think the coaches who say yes to those tournaments, who give their student-athletes (because thats the correct order) the chance to keep doing something they love, are brave. Are strong. Are smart. Care about their student-athletes. I don't know what else to say.

So anyone who mocks those tournaments, who say that these tournaments should be gotten rid of, are rude.  unkind. and unsupportive.

Sorry. I saw a post on a lacrosse forum and it made me angry.
