Y'all. I got to go to a Target yesterday. IN REAL LIFE.
I didn't buy stuff online. I was there. In person. Swiping that card.
I just needed to get that out there...now onto awesomeness.
Returned earlier today from a trip downstate (sidenote: so strange to me that that distinction need even be made, but hey, that NY for you) where I managed to squeeze in some work.
Monday night I managed to get lost-I was right next to the building I was trying to get to, but the good ol' GPS told me to turn right instead of left, and things just went wild from there. Between getting directions at a public library and discovering new banks so that I could pay for parking, I was late. And super angry. Not a good combination. I then went to dinner at Applebee's and watched me so WWE-some of you may have read the tweets about that...and my favorite, @clubtrillion of Ohio State Walk-on fame, tweeted me back when I had some wrestling-related queries. Definitely a small highlight.
Tuesday found me making new friends and judging people on their clothing choices. Just putting it out there, Westchester County-maybe instate a "fingertips" rule. And a rule where leggings don't count as pants-especially when the shirt doesn't cover the butt. I'd just like to say, I'm so happy I had a uniform in high school. My favorite interaction from the day went something like this:
Me: (noticing a kid wearing an Orioles baseball cap) Hey! I like your hat!
Kid: Oh thanks, yeah, I like with because it matches (gesturing to his soccer jersey)
Me: Oh...so you aren't an Orioles fan??
Kid: No! Who in their right mind could be an Orioles fan?!
Me: uuuhhh...(raises hand, along with the guy standing next me me)
Kid: Oh, yeah...I'm a Mets fan
Guy next to me and I bonded. We talked lax and sports, the trade, and generalities. We and another girl went to lunch, then I hit up Target and visited a friend from college at her work. She works at a high school where the students are...affluent, shall we say? One of the students has the Bumblebee car from Transformers. Necessary? no. She also may or may not also work with the children of famous people. Just saying.
That evening I went back to work again and tired not to cry out in pain as my feet and back were killing me. As we left, guy next to me (who wasn't next to me, this time) gave me his card and told me to email him for friendly banter back and forth about our lax teams. Charmer.
Made it back today just in time for some awesome work news.
So things are looking good. Goooo first half of the week!
So now...should I get greek for dinner? Gyro? maybe? yum...
