Yesterday after our event some of my coworkers and I decided we wanted to try a new restaurant in o-town. It's a little more upscale than pretty much the rest of the town, and we wanted to give it a try.
Around 5 pm I ended up coordinating the effort and made a reservation for 7 of us at 6 pm-me, three coworkers, coworker 1's wife, and coworker 2's roommate and his girlfriend (umm full disclosure-his roommate is Hottie Lawyer. Do you know how badly I wanted to say "no they can't come" when coworker #2 asked??)
So I arrived at about 5:50. After waiting a little bit I went and sat at the bar. Coworker 1, his wife, and coworker 3 show up around 6:10. No word from coworker 2. Finally he shows up at around 6:30, no sign of roommate and girlfriend. Apparently, they decided that they didn't want to "dress up" (business casual, jeans and a nice top? And they don't turn people away-you just cannot wear a baseball cap inside) so they decided not to come.
I find it so embarrassing to tell a server that the size of a party has been reduced. They pulled away one of the tables that they'd put together for us. Am I wrong in thinking it was rude of them to back out like that? Is it just my bias because it's HL and I'm looking for reasons to see him negatively and be mad at him? What would you think?
um totally rude and oh so lazy! they should have told you from the get go...
ReplyDeletebut more importantly- was it delicious?? haha i have a one track mind
Oh no...that is totally rude and not okay at all. That is one thing I absolutely cannot stand. Some people think the rules do not apply to them, and that a simple phone call to cancel (in a very timely manner) is too much to expect. They are terribly wrong :(
