Spent the morning trying on outfits with my new boots with my mom. Love that I can "funk" (almost just typed the F-bomb, ha) my outfits up a little to match the boots. I had a phone interview at noon and in the spirit of tooting my own horn, I think I may have rocked it. Which is always really nice.
When I went to get in Sally to go pick up my paycheck, she wouldn't start, and I was DEV.A.STATED. I can't even tell you. Text message I sent to ARD: 'Gertrude rises to the challange, thumbs nose at Sally." Picked up my paycheck, skirted the system by cashing it then depositing it (I really need to set up direct deposit) and then I might have decided to go a little wild. In my defense, Target and VS had some amazing stuff.
Went to target first in search of headbands. I have a bunch of thick ones, and I wanted some really simple, plain skinny ones. Unfortunately, I am easily distracted by clothes. Found a really cute green Merona vest.
The best part? It's reversible to reveal this:
Yummy! I also bought a simple black Mossimo turtleneck, its really really thin material, so it isn't very warm, but it looks cute under the vest:
I did find my headbands, a pack of three skinny braided ones in black, silver and gold (staple accessory colors, natch):
I also got some mascara and eyeshadow. I've found I am much more about the eye makeup than worrying about foundation/blush/bronzer when it comes to simple everyday makeup, so it's probably important for me to be prepared. While I was at target, mom called to tell me that she had gotten Sally to start, and that I was just...well, dumb. Subsequent text to ARD: "Sally responds to challenge, cites hibernation as excuse." From Target I ran over to the mall to hit up VS because i am in dire need of some new unmentionables. And because they are just that, and I don't think you really want to see, no pictures.
Related story-As a young woman of a "blessed" nature, I often find it difficult to find cute underthings in my size. Not today!! I spent more money than planned due to this fact. I think it was definitely a worthwhile investment, though.
Came home, took Bisby out for a little walk at my old elementary school (couldn't let her off the leash though-kids were out playing rec soccer), and had dinner and cookies. Started watching "Young Frankenstein" with mom, but in out shift upstairs we forgot that she does not get AMC on her tv in her room.
Spending my entire day tomorrow working, BUT it is my goal to get back on the workout wagon after work tomorrow (gyms don't close for halloween, do they?) Wish me luck!
