People. This is a B.F.D.
The car I have right now, Gertrude? '94 Buick Century Wagon. Maroon with wood paneling. Over 200,000 miles on. Still in fabulous condition for being 15 years old. My brother? Had a '91 Buick Wagon with over 400,000 miles on it before it died back in...late '07? early '08? These babies are TANKS. They've got those back seats that flip up so passengers can ride backwards. Gertrude is an institution. I've had her for almost 6 years. Before that she was my mom's car, before that she sat waiting to be used in our driveway, and before THAT she was the last car we bought from my grandfather before he passed away in....'97 I think. Gertrude is an amazing car, and it kind of makes me sad to get rid of her before it is necessary.
Yet at the same time...
I could use a car thats a little less...Gertrude. The fastest she can go is 85 mph and thats according to the spedometer. She starts to shake around 75. She's been having some issues recently too, not to mention the fact that her gas gauge? I can buy $20 worth of gas and it will fluxuate between 1/4 of a tank full and 3/4 of a tank full. She only has a tape deck and am/fm radio, and her power locks and seats haven't worked for almost a year now.
It may be time to retire Gertrude.
It all depends on how the visit on Friday goes.
