Dear Boys...

(I don't know if anyone else ever feels/has felt this way, but bare with me for a post while I vent)

Just because I want to hang out with you, does not mean I am in love with you.

I went to an all girls school, I was in a sorority, and I am (fortunately and unfortunately) living in a time where it is no longer entirely the young gentleman's duty to arrange any meeting and where the woman is no longer considered a hussy if she takes the first steps. I have had to ask guys to many a cocktail, party, dance, formal, whatever. I have friends that are guys, and I would like to actually hang out with you in person instead of just texting or talking on instant messenger.

But just because I ask you to something or try and hang out with you, does not mean that I am in love with you. So please, don't say you'll do it and then avoid me. Don't tell me you'll call me to make plans and then not do so. I am a (mostly) grown woman, if I ask you to do something socially and you don't want to, just tell me no. I can take it. I promise. It isn't letting me down any better to say yes and then ignore me. Then, not only am I sad, but I am also ticked. off.

So seriously, next time you are asked to do something by a girl, don't assume it means she is head over heels, causing you to get awkward and confuse/tick off your friend when you don't call her after you said you would.

Yeesh.
