Sunday/Monday/First Half of Tuesday...

Sunday, if I recall (because it was so long ago) was a pretty lame day. Honestly, nothing major about it. Just, you know, the snow. Monday,  my sister and her boyfriend broke the shovel, and I had to give them some $$ to buy a new one, since mom was at the dentist, and dad was at work. Well, apparently Operation Buy A Shovel didn't go too well. Meanwhile, I went to work and then headed my booty over to the gym, after being lazy all snowy weekend.

So I'm minding my business, working out, and up the stairs comes a guy I had boxing class with like...twice. Unfortunately for him, in one of those class I saw him almost take out this old lady in the class. (supplementary thought: This class is a mixture of "oh hey, look, boxing, how neat!" kind of people and "I am totally into boxing and really pound the bags" kind of people. Obviously, he was the latter. She was the former.) So anyways, he kind of has that hanging over his head now. So when he came up the stairs he saw me and immediately came over and was all like "HEY! I haven't seen you in boxing class!" dahdahdahdahdah. I finish on my machine and we continue talking. For a good 45 minutes. We finally parted with him off to find a shovel and me off to squeeze in some weights in 15 minutes before the gym closed, with general "plans" to see each other the next night at boxing. It was all really quite nice.

The next morning mommy woke me up to go out grocery shopping with her, when I was informed that Operation Buy A Shovel DEFINITELY didn't happen, and we tried to support some local businesses but everyone was sold. out. Not even kidding. So we came home, and I called around to a couple places, with home Depot being the only place expecting a new shipment "shortly", and that they were one per customer, first come first serve. So I scooted my boot over there, only to arrive with about 50 shovels left. Talking to the guy who so intuitively knew I needed a shovel (Thanks, Mike!) I discovered that the shipment had arrived about 10 minutes prior to my arrival and that there had been 500 shovels in the shipment. YIKES. Glad I got there when I did (though the hype had appeared to be slowing down). I also felt bad for Mike, who informed me that he was not allowed to purchase a shovel, nor put one aside for himself to purchase after he got off work. And that he needed a shovel. Not so cool, Home Depot.

Meanwhile, I made plans to get snowed in downtown with HD, who was still in town for her training. The rest of the training had been cancelled, but she hadn't made it out in time to travel safe. I was planning on heading over on the Light Rail after boxing class...story for next time!
