My Music Friday A Cappella Version Week 2

This week I would like to highlight an all female group from University of Georgia- Noteworthy. I found them through the "For Today We Are All Hokies" CD as well.

I have some problems with all female groups, just because the Vocal Percussion (most of the time) isn't quite the quality of men's groups, and I tend to think they don't build the background as much, but i really enjoy this group, so I hope you do too!

The first video is of the women doing Carrie Underwood's "Last Name." I love the video because of their choreography (really any group that does choreography is above and beyond in my book) and a lot of times girls tend to hold back a little more, but these women seem to just really go for it.

The next song is their cover of Oasis' "Wonderwall". This song is already a haunting one, and they just completely take it to another level. It is just gorgeous. I think this is a great example of where a women's group can totally surpass a men's group. It's all about song selection and what you do with it.

The final song selection for you is OneRepublic's "Apologize". The quality isn't very great (probably in the transfer onto YouTube) but you can hear how awesome it is. I can totally imagine it being even better in person.

None of these songs are the one that originally drew me to Noteworthy (that would be "Hear Me Out" a cover of the Frou Frou song) but these discoveries since hearing that song are just as valid performances as that one. This, to me, is an example of an amazing all women's group.

(note: I am not getting paid to write this, etc. I also do not own the videos used in this post.)
