Today I...

-Woke up at 5 am
-Drove 5 1/2 hours (some pits stops were necessary) up to my new home!
-Signed my lease, got my keys, and put a bunch of stuff in my new apartment.
-Met with HR and learned all about my jobby job job.
-Tried to go visit da coach-when he wasn't in, I left him a note.
-Drove 7 hours home.

Wait, you are saying to yourself. 5.5 hours up, but 7 hours back? How strange. Did you take a different route? Did you stop for a glorious lunch and coffee? Did you really need to use the restroom that much?!!

Oh no, my friends, oh no. Yours truly got stuck IN A SNOW STORM.

March 30th. I-81. Around mile 154 southbound.

So around...Scranton, the rain that was pummeling me the whole trip turned into snow. Then around Wilkes Barre it started to stick. And then, at mile 154, I came to a complete standstill.

Sat there for about 45 minutes until the 18 wheelers in front of me moved to discover another 18 wheeler had started to jackknife, stopped, and was the reason the left lane was moving and my lane wasn't. Except I had thought all the meanies running up both the left and (non-existant) right lanes were why I was stopped. Nice.

Then came the next....hour and 15 minutes spent white knuckling it over snow covered highway. Always fun when you can't tell where the road ends and the side of the road begins. And when 18 wheelers are passing you with about an inch between you.

So in two hours I went 50 miles. My shoulders are still so tight I can't relax them. Or feel my neck.

BUT!

I now have some serious (and I mean serious-we're talking whiteout conditions) snow driving experience. Which, you know, is helpful when you are moving to upstate NY.
