Big Win-Discussion

Hooray! The Ravens broke their 3 game losing streak by beating the Steelers last night 20-17. It was a really exciting game, going into OT with Kruger (rookie!) making an amazing interception which lead to the winning field goal. Dixon was incredibly impressive at the QB position for the Steelers.

Now for a couple of things, haha

1) I have a sorority sister who is a huge Steelers fan, and after the loss she had a FB status up about how Ravens fans could "yeah, be proud and obnoxious. You barely beat us with our third string quarter back." thank you, I will be proud and not very obnoxious. I know that it is pretty bad that we barely beat you with Dixon at the helm, but this is the NFL, not high school football. Your third string QB? Still a high quality QB. if the score had been reversed, I could have easily said "congrats on barely beating a 2nd year QB". Recognize that these players are good players, regardless of their position on the team and on the bench. Our game winning interception was not made by a well known veteran (who your team avoided throwing in the general direction of) but a random rookie with only 3 games under hit belt before this.

2) Watching the pre-game show, they showed an interview with Hines Ward where he basically ripped Rothelsburger for telling the coaches that he was still getting headaches after practices, which led to him not being cleared to play last night. It amazes me that a teammate would not support another teammate when it comes to their health and their safety. Maybe he cares about himself and his loved ones more than the game, thats OK. You only get so long in your chosen career, and then what? Why put your neurological health in danger just to play a game that, to be honest, you could lose and still be in a good position? Kudos to Ben for knowing where to draw the line and recognizing the importance of his health, even if he did apparently make an "11th hour plea" to Tomlin to be allowed to play.

3) Ummm hi Ravens! Hopefully you got some much needed esteem boosts from that win, and maybe you won't be so intimidated? Let Flacco do what he does best, which is throw that ball! Going for it on 4th and 5? totally nerve wracking, but smart! And it paid off! I was impressed by Cundiff, even if he did miss the field goal but about 3 yards, it was from 56 yards out, I can totally forgive him that, especially because it was SO SPOT ON in its direction. We won't talk about how he almost missed the game winning field goal. Ray Rice and Ray Lewis, you crack me up. Thanks for the fantasy points, RR.
