Boston?! Why Not!!

As I think? I have mentioned, my brother and his GF live in Boston. I, being super duper AWESOME! have never even been to Massachusetts. So as of right now, I have tentative plans to go visit them the weekend of the 17th of January. Yay! A round trip train ticket is only $64, which I think is pretty damn reasonable, considering I'd probably spend more than that on the gas up there and back. The only reason my plans are tentative is in the next couple of weeks I will have an umber of bills to pay, so I don't know what my $$ situation will be. Sure, I could probably swing the train ticket, but would I have enough to pay for my weekend activities as well? Damn you Christmas gifts for depleting my meager savings!

Or, you know, maybe its the coffee habit...

Anyways, I know at last one of you who read this is from Boston (hi Brittany!) but I am sure there are other out there who are from there or who have at least been there, so I am asking for suggestions on what to do! Gimme some ideas, and if (when) I go I will make sure to document (photographically) my visits to your suggestions!

  1. def make the trip- bostons fab!

one of my favorite (and cost effective) things to do- especially if your have your brothers place to go back to- is wander the north end during the day and pick up some things to make a yummy dinner. DePasquale's has amazing homemade pastas (at about $3 a container) and sauces- and there are tons of places on hanover street to pick up some fresh mozz. mikes pastry has the most delic cannolis and cookies. (i always get a few for the walk home!) pick up some wine and youve got a delic inexpensive dinner!

oh and dont forget to hit up ernestos: chicken bacon ranch pizza is to die for. and $4 gets you a slice (which is enough for two- or one if youre really hungry)

the museum of fine arts is free on the 18th i think and the harry potter exhibit is at the museum of science! ive been meaning to check that out...
