Ouchie

I ran (most of, walked some of) 4.22 miles today. In an hour, averaging about a 14 minute mile (pathetico, I am so well aware). Around the 3.5 mile mark, I started feeling pain in the middle of my foot, across my arches, but I figured I would power through (again with the walking/running) until I hit 4 and then I'd just walk (which was the last 4 minutes). Kind of felt like there were little blades in my shoes.

I have blisters! Yay! Naaaaht.

Whatever, I own band-aids and better socks. Milt thinks this means its time for new shoes. I think it just means I was pushing my luck on the distance and speed.

I have a list (on my awesome Lilly post-its!) of a couple of jobs/teaching internships I will be applying to within the evenings time, so as per usual, keep your fingers crossed for me.

Off to continue my efforts while listening to glorious Glee music. (listen to the Don't Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl Mashup-looove it)

  1. i agree with milty, good shoes are crucial. good socks are also beneficial for longer runs, but kudos to you on your excercise prowess! i'm pretty jealous and need to get back into it. hoping to see you in boston soon!

  2. milt might be right- you need to replace your shoes every 300-500 miles or six months if you work out in them often! if you go to the asics website they tell you how to pick the right shoe based on your arch. sounds like you may have overpronation and need more support (ive got that too) if you get the right shoes or inserts youll notice a huge difference!
