Bee Yourself

Interesting life story: There is a bumble bee that cannot fly that has been wandering around on our front steps for the past couple of days. I see him every morning when I let the dogs outside and I sit on the steps eating my cereal. We are bonding. Today he was climbing up a pair of tennis shoes and fell, landing on his back. I righted him with a leaf. It's pretty magical.

I spent a couple hours yesterday getting applications from stores in my local "strip mall" and filling them out at Caribou Coffee with a Mint Condition. Yummy. The only problem is I wore my new shoes, and my feet are completely shredded and blistered. Then I met my mommy for an early dinner at Greystone Grill, which was really good. We got a crab meat and artichoke fondue for an appetizer. It wasn't so much fondue as it was just a hot dip with melted cheese on top, but it was still really good. They served it with these buttery-deep friend type pita triangles that had some really, really good spices on top. Then we each got a caesar salad with grilled salmon on it. So good! I honestly wouldn't have thought of salmon on my caesar, but I am glad I got it.

After dinner we headed over to Wegmans so mom could buy some cookies for work, and while we were there I got a phone call from on of the places I had applied to, literally like 2 hours earlier. Thats a much better response rate than the big kid jobs. So I immediately went back to the store, where the manager basically told me that after working in a restaurant, this job would seem like the easiest job ever, and that he needed to do a criminal background check and I would know by Friday. So I am going to having a not-so-big kid job while I continue to bust my butt trying to find a big kid job. I'm ok with that. As long as I can start paying my student loans when the bills start coming, that's a good thing.

So last Friday (Alpha Invasion) I apparently really agreed that I wanted to head down to school this weekend for parents weekend. The girl who had won the free happy hour has a brother who is a freshman at my college, and she and her parents were going down, and we decided that I was coming too. Joey from Full House is the entertainment!! You know when you talk about things, and you think it's all talk, no doing? I think that's what I thought. But I talked to the boy last night and she wrote on my Facebook wall today about it. So I need to figure out if I can go down. 1) I am already working until 5:30 on Friday. If I go, It would be after that and I wouldn't get in town until 10:30-11 on Friday night. Plus, as mentioned above, I am supposed to hear back from my possible job Friday, and I don't know when they would want me to start. So here is my question: Should I talk to my parents (I would need money for gas and food, I know plenty of people I could crash with) and try and swing it, or should I just explain myself and not go? I can't exactly get out of working on Friday. Thoughts? Feelings?

Update: Nevermind. CWF and her boyfriend are gonig to Shawan Downs, which is like 10-15 minutes from me, and So I will be joining them for that! So excited.
